Catastic Britz
Hello, my name is Donna Whittle. I have grown up
with cats my whole life and have always adored
them. After having our three daughters, I
decided I wanted to fulfil a dream and breed
British Shorthair cats.
Catastic Britz is a new cattery, but have been
breeding now for 4 years. We are now situated in
the Lockyer Valley, between Ipswich and
Toowoomba, QLD.
I have 7 beautiful British Shorthairs, which
were obtained from quality and reputable
breeders throughout Australia.
I am registered with the Queensland Feline
Association as a breeder of British Shorthairs.

The British Shorthair is a brilliant breed of
cat. They were first discovered in the alleys of
Britain of the 19th Century.
They have become well known and loved by people
from all walks of life.
The British Shorthair has a compact build, very
muscular, strong and well balanced. They have a
broad crest; rounded head; broad shoulders,
short strong legs; rounded paws and a thick tail
at the base. The Brits coat is short & dense and
their eyes are wide open & round.
Thou this type of cat can come in many different
colours; the most loved colour is the Blue,
known as the “British Blue.”
They are very intelligent and affectionate,
especially with their family, and are great with
children and other family pets. Brits are not
vocal cats,
can rage between 3 to 6 kilograms’(sometimes
over ) and live up to 18 years of age.
It can take up to 4 to 5 years for the British
Shorthair to fully mature, after this, these
cats may slowly become couch potatoes, lie
around all day and sleep.
Catastic Britz breed Solids in Blacks, Blues,
Lilacs and sometimes Chocolates. We also breed
Bi-Colours in blues & Lilacs. By the end of 2011
we will be breeding Silver Tabbies as well.
Kittens are brought up in our house, around our
children and become used to the everyday noises.
Catastic cats are very friendly, placid &
loving. They love our family very much,
specially my three young children. They
socialise very well with our other pets of the
household and are loved very much by us all.
